Data Strategy - realising the value of data

One of Intelligent Health’s main aims for 2021 is to improve how it works with the rich data on players to create a better experience for participants and clients.

Strosed role explores opportunities to enhance Intelligent Health’s approach to data, helping to achieve even greater impact and open up exciting new business development opportunities. Global Mayors Challenge 2021

Steve Rose of Strosed was contracted through FutureGov as an International Design Coach directly supporting Bloomberg Philanthropies with their Global Mayors Challenge 2021. The role was to coach city collaborations to enter quality innovation applications into the Global Mayors Challenge 2021. I worked directly with city Mayors and their teams, running online design sessions. I was sole coach helping them to;

fully understand the problem frame; evidence it by developing meaningful, measurable, and movable metrics;
develop strategies for stakeholder and resident research and to develop logic models with a clear focus on impact.

I had to design, adapt, and deliver the facilitated workshop and coaching group sessions. Participant’s feedback rated my delivery with an average score of 6.2 out of maximum 7 (89%). During the project I worked directly with nine cities across the world on major challenges facing each city. Examples include;

Kampala (Uganda) exploring the problem of corruption in government investment and using blockchain and crypto currencies to create open and transparent avenues for entrepreneurial investment;
Helsinki (Finland) developing a strategic wellbeing economic data driven approach to city master planning;
Warsaw (Poland) with their innovation plans relating to route to zero and specifically developing natural capital accounting into a systemic approach to green assets in the city.

At the heart of the Bloomberg design approach is the importance of data as an asset and a significant part of the Design Coach role was to help cities understand their data and how it can be most effectively used to help them tackle their most pressing problems. The process involved challenging senior elected officials and senior city professionals often experts in their field.
